Sagi A. Genger History
Sagi A. Genger
Sagi A. Genger immigrated to the United States in 1990, a time where immigration was wide-spread and generally accepted by the United States government; it wasn’t until the 21st century that the government and the country as a whole began to be against slavery and tighten border security. Most who came to the United States at that time came for one reason and one reason only – more opportunity. Schooling was the main avenue most immigrants took to take advantage of their new opportunities, and Mr Sagi A Genger did so by enrolling into the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where attended for 6 years and attained his Master’s Degree from.
United States Immigration – A Brief History
A nation made entirely of immigrants the United States has a very rich history as far as immigration goes; immigration history in the United Sates can be broken down into 4 main time-periods: the colonial immigration period (the original founding immigrants of the country), the mid 19th century, the 1900s, and 1965-present.
The original immigrants that came to the United States came from Britain to avoid religious persecution. These “puritans” as they called themselves, came to the United States (which at the time was a British Colony) to escape the hatred they were receiving from traditional Prodestant Catholics in their home country, which is ironic because they chose to persecute any non-followers in their communities. After this initial immigration around 400,000 immigrants would come to the United States before the end of the 18th century.
In 1790 there was an act put in place to limit immigration into the United States to “free white persons.” The act was expanded to include blacks in 1860, and Asian immigrants in 1950. After 1836 immigration into the United States began to gradually rise, with over 30 million Europeans immigrating into the United States between 1836 and 1914. People were coming from a wide variety of countries; most of the countries were ridden with famine and other issues that made for low-standard of life – many came in hopes of living “the American Dream” as they called it.
European immigration peaked in 1907 when there were about 1,200,000 immigrants entered the country that year. Immigration from there gradually began to level off (as opposed to the exponential growth being seen prior to 1907). To further slow down immigration into the United States congress passed Emergency Quota Act as well as the Immigration act of 1924; both of these laws were imposed in order to control the amount of Europeans coming into the country especially as conditions began to worsen in that part of the world.
As the Great Depression fell upon the United States immigration was slowed to a near halt. In 1929, the year prior to the Great Depression, there were about 230,000 immigrants; in 1930, the first year of the depression, a mere 20,000 immigrants came into the country. After the Great Depression immigration picked up again, but from a different part of the world; Mexico. By the 1940s and 50s hundreds of thousands of Mexicans began to cross the California-Mexico border – very few of them came legally. The problem grew so quickly that the government was forced to launch a campaign known as “Operation Wetback” to deport the new illegal immigrants. Ever since then immigration in the United States has been shifting from prominently European to a much more diverse group of people. Nowadays the immigration problem continues on with millions of immigrants entering the United States yearly, many of them illegally.
Sagi A Genger’s Immigration
Sagi A. Genger came during a rather stable time in the United States history for the same reason almost every immigrant has come to the country; for the opportunity to grow and prosper, something that wouldn’t otherwise be possible in his home country. Mr. Sagi A. Genger immigrated into the United States from Poland, where at the time there was widespread starvation and little opportunity for Mr. Sagi A. Genger to take advantage of his game design talents. Unlike most immigrants of his time (or any immigrants coming into the US for that matter) Sagi Genger came into the country legally. He took the time to apply years beforehand and was able to enter the country as a legal resident.
Upon his arrival Sagi A. Genger didn’t waste any time; he immediately emigrated from New York to Pennsylvania where he found a job working for a local café and took residency in a local apartment building. As soon as Sagi A Genger had enough money to he enrolled in the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to study his passion – game design, game development, and coding. Sagi A. Genger loved making games, and already had significant talent in the area of making games. His schooling however would take his talents to a whole new level, paving the way for Mr. Sagi A. Genger’s successful future as a thoughtful business man.
Mr. Sagi Genger stayed in school for 6 full years, studying as hard as possible while still maintaining his job and apartment. He was a very smart, hardworking man and it showed in all his work. It’s believed that Mr. Sagi A Genger began many of his first game designs while still in school. IN fact, his idea for the Sagi Genger Gaming Co. probably started while he was in school; soon after his graduation Sagi Genger released numerous games on his recently-released gaming website. Sagi A. Genger’s immigration to the United States didn’t start his game-making talent, but it sure did allow him to pursue the opportunities his talent game him.
The United States as Sagi Genger Arrived
Mr. Sagi A. Genger happened to come to the United States during a very prosperous and innovative time, when the United States was booming economically, entering into the technology age of computers. Shortly after his arrival Bill Clinton had stepped into office, and the country was beginning one of its largest economical upsurges in its history (in fact the country hasn’t had a upsurge that big since). The stock market was on a continual rise, and jobs were plentiful in the United States. Unemployment was almost non-existent, and immigrants who came were able to take advantage of the “easy money” being given out as regular loans, and low-interest student loans. Simply put, upon his arrival in 1990 Sagi Genger was flooded with opportunities.
Pennsylvania – One of the Founding States of the United States Union
Many look at New York City as the main American hub of opportunity; the city has the densest population In the United States and has a wide range of jobs available throughout the entire city; jobs that wouldn’t be available elsewhere. While there’s no doubt that Ney York City is very appealing to a new immigrant, that’s not to say it’s the only city where success is possible. In fact, there are many other cities in the United States that can provide new immigrants the opportunities they seek with far less local competition; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania being Sagi Genger’s city of choice.
The city of Philadelphia has a very rich history, with several historical figures, such as Benjamin Franklin, having previously lived and prospered in the city. Philadelphia also served as the United State’s capital for a short period of time from 1790 to 1800, while the nation’s permanent capital (Washington D.C. was under construction). The city was also the first in the United States to industrialize thanks to the help of canals, roads, and railroads. Everywhere you go in Philadelphia you see something of historical significance, ranging from the architecture to famous statues of our founding fathers. Sagi Genger’s original apartment was located in the heart of the city, being only a few blocks away from Independence Hall.
A Little History on the University of Pennsylvania
The history of the University of Pennsylvania dates all the way back to 1749, when Benjamin Franklin presented his initial vision of his school which he called the Public Academy of Philadelphia. He was one of the first men to draw up the idea of a higher education which would teach various arts as well as teach the skills needed to make a decent wage. At the time there were very few colleges in existence; in fact the only 4 known colleges were Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and William and Mary however all these schools did not prepare students for the lives ahead of them in business and public service.
In 1751 Franklin made his vision a reality when he was able to use funding from the unfinished “New Building” and build his first campus, naming his new university the College of Philadelphia. William Smith was selected to be in charge of the school and came up with a solid curriculum which would teach the students both the classic and more modern sciences. The school was highly successful in many different areas, especially in the medical field creating the first version of “medical school” in 1765. In 1779 the state of Pennsylvania decided to seize the College of Philadelphia because of its support of the revolution, renaming tit the “University of the State of Pennsylvania.” The University became very well known as the 18th century came to a close, and for good reason. By the end of the 18th century the University had schooled 9 signers of the Declaration of Independence and 11 people who signed the constitution.
The University continued to prosper well into the 19th century with a law program being introduced in 1850, Engineering in 1852, Wharton’s school, (which is the specific program Sagi A Genger enrolled in after his immigration) and many other programs in between.
Today in the 21st century the school is doing better than ever, offering an education to students in almost every field imaginable. The school is very well known globally and is specifically known for its great business and financial programs.
Sagi Genger owes much of his success to the University of Pennsylvania. The University gave him the knowledge he needed to pursue his dream of making his own company, as well as gave him the credentials he needed to persuade others to contribute to his plans.
